·      With a population of between 126,900 and  148,000 people, Kootenay is the 5th largest region in the province, home to just over 3% of British Columbians.

·      Central Kootenay (58,800): Nelson, Castlegar, and Creston (?)

·      Kootenay-Boundary (31,900): Trail, Rossland and Grand Forks.

·      East Kootenay (59,000), thanks to Cranbrook.
