9. Yet the Kootenays have no commercial mushroom growers. Even small scale.

·      Non commercial / non profit: Kootenay Agroforestry Society (Kaslo) offers workshops with Peter Mc Allistair.
·      The Food Tree operates the Nelson Farmers Market on a seasonal basis.
·      Besides Bill Stockdale/Forest House Mushrooms (7 years commercial experience, Salmo), past supplier of Endless Harvest, and Nelson Food Coop, no other listing. Bill Stockdale now works for the Nelson School District.
·      In Creston, Davy & Silvia White, owners of Goat River B&B. grew mushrooms for 2 years and sold them to Creston Farmer’s Market and the Nelson Food Coop. Davy is now turning the growing rooms into other operations.
